I've successfully gone a 24 hour period without saying a word to my roommate. This is going to be a fun semester, I can already tell. At least I slept pretty well. I'm still not 100% on this time-zone though. I think my body clock has adjusted to somewhere randomly over the Pacific Ocean. I get tired around 8-9 p.m., and wake up around 7 a.m. *DOH* That is not normal college student sleeping hours. What gives?
Tomorrow I'm meeting back up with Camille to go to the Queen Victoria market (bargain hunting) for food/more life supplies, and hopefully either before or after, I'll be able to go scouting for the boxing gym near my dorm. I MUST train. I'm starting to lose my mind! I always know when I'm getting the jitters when I start having martial arts dreams. Though I'm WAY more skilled in my dreams than in real life. Curses.
I did finally get an Australian cell phone though, which is nice to have, as it makes me feel connected to life somehow once again. You don't realize how attached to technology you are until you suddenly don't have it. At least I have my tea. I'm growing so addicted. *shakes fist* It's ok though, at the mall today I discovered a massive store selling nothing but tea and tea accessories, so I'm PUMPED.
I found out when orientation is for international students, so it'll be nice to have that come so I can hopefully meet other lost souls to bond with. Though I forgot what subject Melbourne admitted me under, so I will probably end up going to the wrong orientation......my bad. Whatever, they can't be TOO different right?
My thoughts on my schedule are as follows:
1-2 psychology courses (2nd year courses, so shouldn't be overly difficult, but still interesting)
1 history class for a breadth requirement (aboriginal history could be interested, and definitely isn't offered at Berkeley)
1 for fun class (possibly anatomy, taken P/NP, just for my own pre-med insane desires)
I might end up getting a sketchy paid under the table job to supplement my travel habits, but we'll see if I have time once my life is taken over by class and training. I would ideally like to just see physically how often they'll let me train, and then do that, and figure the rest of my life out later. Standard. I think I've forgotten how to kick. Crap. This is going to be a fun reintroduction to the mat. However, I'm forcing myself to get off my gross diet of traveler food and get back in the gym tomorrow, so that is going to be painful/awesome.
I'm starting a training journal as of tomorrow so I can keep up with how much/what I'm training to get some direction, and hopefully keep myself on track. WHEEEE!!
Anyways, I'll update more when tomorrow comes :)
