We were discussing whether or not using invasive brain research techniques would be appropriate if the patient had a degenerative disease, such as multiple sclerosis. I TRIED to say that if the patient is willing to give consent for that kind of research, then ethically it is alright, as long as the patient is informed of the risks. My T.A. said that mentality was too "clinical" and that I needed to look at it more ethically.......I'm.....confused......
So after class I bummed around at RMIT for a few hours, and got really sucked in to the new season of Lost, which, if you're not watching, is SO good. Afterwards, I decided to be a bad martial artist and skip both boxing AND BJJ to semi-work on classes/paperwork. Gross.....I wish I had been on the mat...
Anyways, the evening time rolled around, so I headed out for the exchange students cocktail party downtown, which was actually pretty nice, but I felt waaaay too immature to be standing around networking with people. I was waiting for someone to scream "FOOD FIGHT!" or some other inappropriate childish thing.....wow I'm mature....
Melissa and I got bored, and went to chill by the river for a bit, then headed back to Charlie's to meet everyone. Then a group of us decided to go to Rooftop, which.....is on a rooftop...clever....and just hung out while checking out the skyline....
I'm now back at RMIT, and need to go to bed before class tomorrow, and I'm planning on dying pretty intensely at TKD practice with the upper ranks, so I need my rest.....hrm....
